Cherry Creek Schools has been a Google Apps for Education district since 2008. For those who have been using Google tools with students or who would like to have a deeper understanding of how to use them effectively, this online course will provide opportunities to expand and apply your knowledge. Course participants will complete online modules in Google's Educational Training center along with companion course work in Schoology to complete the time required for 1 credit. Google Certification for Level 1 requires the successful completion of an online exam, which costs $10. Certification is the responsibility of the participant as neither the cost nor the exam is included in the course.

WARNING! This session will provide you with skills to get your students to learn content while having fun! Calling all CCSD explorers, it's time to grab your digital pick-axes and mine away! This hands-on session will give you the guidance you need to become a true miner in the virtual oasis that is Minecraft: EE. We'll spend time learning how to install or "push" Minecraft to devices, literally jump into the world, and get savvy with the ins and outs that can only be experienced in the Educational version of one of today's most popular games. This session will be a wonderful introduction to those who have wanted to go mining but have yet to encounter creepers, zombies and all the biomes Minecraft: EE has to offer. We'll even take a glance at how to become a coder, scientist, or engineer through amazing built-in tools such as Code Builder and the Chemistry Lab. Don't forget to bring your device as we plan to make a miner out of yet!

So you got your feet wet, built a piece of pixel art, and possibly learned how to dig yourself out of a hole and make a structure come to life. Now, it's time to "dig deeper" with that diamond pickaxe of yours and truly unlock the huge potential Minecraft: EE has in the classroom. You'll have time to go on a Coding Quest, put on your lab coat and learn how to make exclusive items through the Chemistry Lab, and drop structure blocks that unlock the ability to 3D print your creations (a couple of lucky attendees may even have one printed to take home). Ample time will be given to lesson plan, get guidance from Minecraft experts, and feel prepared to make all your students pioneers in pixelated learning.
